French Air Force

Dassault / Dornier Alpha Jet E

40 years ago, the first of over 500 produced Alpha Jets, co-developed by Dassault in France and Dornier in Germany were delivered to both air forces. The French variant, the Alpha Jet E (“Ecole” = school) followed French requirements for a trainer, receiving technical equipment suited for the role. Still today, French and Belgian pilots are trained on the Alpha Jet in a bi-national training unit.
